EUROBIOTECH Kraków 2026 – science meets business at an international biotechnology congress

23.06.2026

The 10th edition of the Central European Congress of Life Sciences – EUROBIOTECH 2026 – will take place on 2–3 July 2026 at EXPO Kraków. Organised by Targi w Krakowie in collaboration with the Małopolska Centre for Biotechnology at the Jagiellonian University, the event has for years been one of the most important platforms for the exchange of knowledge and experience within the scientific and business communities. The international nature of the congress attracts experts, researchers and representatives of the biotechnology sector from across Europe, creating a space for the development of innovation, technology transfer and new partnerships.

The anniversary edition of the event looks set to be spectacular!

Over the two days of the congress, participants will have the opportunity to hear from 150 speakers from Poland and abroad, who will present during 47 parallel sessions, including plenary sessions. With such a rich programme, EUROBIOTECH 2026 in Kraków is set to be one of the largest and most comprehensive life sciences events in Central Europe.

10 years of building bridges between academia and the biotechnology industry

Since its inception in 2007, EUROBIOTECH has consistently strengthened its position as a meeting place for scientists, entrepreneurs and representatives of institutions supporting the development of innovation. The congress is recognised as a platform that supports translational research and the effective implementation of research findings into business practice.

The fact that the event is co-organised with the Małopolska Centre for Biotechnology at the Jagiellonian University underscores its high academic standard and strong links with one of the most important academic centres in Central Europe.

Key trends and groundbreaking technologies

The programme for this year’s edition has been designed to showcase the latest scientific advances and technologies that are already shaping the future of medicine, industry and environmental protection.

Among the most interesting topics to be discussed during the biotechnology congress will be:

  1. Regenerative medicine and therapies of the future

One of the most rapidly developing fields will be regenerative medicine. Experts will present the latest advances in cell therapies, tissue engineering and the use of stem cells in the treatment of chronic and lifestyle-related diseases.

  1. Bioinformatics and artificial intelligence in the life sciences

Tools utilising artificial intelligence and big data analysis are playing an increasingly important role in biological research. Participants will learn about the applications of AI in diagnostics, drug design and the analysis of genetic and molecular data.

  1. Innovations in space biotechnology

One of the most futuristic topics at this year’s event will be space biotechnology. Sessions dedicated to this subject will demonstrate how research conducted in space can influence the development of medicine, food production and new materials on Earth.

  1. Cell biology and protein engineering

Experts will discuss modern methods of designing and modifying proteins used in medicine, the pharmaceutical industry and diagnostics. This is a field that has been developing rapidly in recent years thanks to advances in molecular biology and computational technology.

  1. Environmental Biotechnology and Green Technologies

In the face of climate challenges, solutions that support sustainable development are playing an increasingly important role. The congress will showcase innovative methods of environmental remediation, the use of microorganisms, and biotechnological solutions for industry and agriculture.

  1. Biocatalysis and modern industrial processes

Issues relating to biotransformation and the use of enzymes in industrial production are also attracting considerable interest. This is an area that enables the development of more efficient and environmentally friendly technological processes.

Academia and business around the same table

Cooperation between the academic community and the business sector remains one of EUROBIOTECH’s cornerstones. Following the success of previous editions, the organisers are expanding the part of the programme dedicated to commercial research, technology transfer and the commercialisation of research findings.

The congress will provide a unique platform for representatives of universities, research institutes, technology start-ups, pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, and investors interested in the development of the life sciences sector to meet.

International guests and new opportunities for cooperation

Every year, EUROBIOTECH attracts participants from many countries across Europe and around the world. As a result, the event serves as a forum for exchanging experiences, presenting the latest scientific achievements and launching international research projects.

For young scientists, taking part in the congress offers the opportunity to present their own research, gain knowledge from world-class experts, and build the networks essential for the development of their scientific and professional careers.
